Terms of Service (DRAFT)

Last updated: 2026-08-20

1. The service

Draw the System provides a hosted practice environment for system design interviews: a session workspace, diagram canvas, storage, and a remote MCP server that lets an AI agent you control conduct practice interviews on your behalf.

2. Bring your own agent

The service does not include an AI model. Interviews are conducted by an AI agent that you supply and pay for separately (for example, a Claude subscription). You are responsible for that agent's costs, its terms of use, and the content it generates. Feedback and grades are AI-generated practice material — they are not advice, and no interview or employment outcome is promised.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

You need an account to use the service, and you are responsible for activity under it. Don't attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.

4. Billing

Paid plans are sold by Paddle.com as merchant of record. Paddle handles payment, invoicing, and tax; their checkout terms apply to the purchase. The default purchase is a one-time 30-day pass that does not renew; auto-renew is opt-in and can be cancelled at any time from your account page, taking effect at the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled through Paddle in line with our refund policy; an approved refund ends access immediately.

5. Your content

Sessions, notes, diagrams, transcripts, and feedback you create belong to you. You grant us the rights needed to store and process them to run the service. We may delete content of accounts closed for non-payment or abuse after reasonable notice.

6. Open source

Parts of the product (the interview skills, rubric, and diagram tooling) are open source under the MIT license and available separately. These terms apply to the hosted service only.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use after that is acceptance.
